INTRODUCTION:

All of these pages have the same verses at top in the introduction, designed to help you understand how to understand the Word of God, in context, without any of one's own private interpretation which changes meanings to fit one's pet doctrines. Not to mention goes against the Word of God.

(Deuteronomy 4:2 [KJV])
Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

(Proverbs 30:5, 6 [KJV])
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

(Isaiah 28:10 [KJV])
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

(Isaiah 28:13 [KJV])
But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

(2 Peter 1:20 [KJV])
Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

(2 Peter 3:16 [KJV])
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

(Psalms 12:6-7 [KJV])
The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

(1 Thessalonians 2:13 [KJV])
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

(2 Timothy 2:15-16 [KJV])
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

(Acts 17:10-11 [KJV])
And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews. These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

As the verses above say and teach, always research for yourself, always use all of the context of all Scripture, always rightly divide that Word of Truth and never privately interpret it!

All of the studies found here, whether book studies or topical studies, are done with research with mainly two things: The KING JAMES BIBLE and a plain old, 1828 Webster's Dictionary. Why? Outside of actually studying secular and Jewish history, archaeology, one needs nothing more. You do not need foreign, dead languages that no one speaks, nor lexicons, concordances nor commentaries, because they differ not only with one another and with the KING JAMES BIBLE, they create division, confusion, debate, and unbelief, apostasy, and a falling away from God Himself. We do not need them. That Word of God written and preserved for us in our own language is supposed to be enough, like the Old Testament was for the Jews, and as the New Testament was for the early Christians in Greek, Latin, Italian, Spanish, German, etc.

There are studies within as tangents on words, subjects found within the two testaments, as to broaden the scope of the study, to learn more, deeper truths. This is not an intellectual site with PhDs, theologians, and no worldly wisdom.. Check everything out, everything. Not just here, but with everything you read and see and hear. Be Bereans:

Always research for yourself, use all of the context, and never privately interpret!

1 Peter CHAPTER 1: TO THE SCATTERED JEWS

Having just finished James, this epistle, even in the very first few verses of this chapter alone, should be a very clear and loud, screaming reminder that we are not saved, nor kept saved, by our works. The introduction to this page and all other study pages herein tells us that the context of any verse, never privately interpreted, determines the doctrine, teaching, meaning of that verse and all other verses. The scattered were everywhere, and Peter was in Babylon, apparently, with that church there (1 Peter 5:13)

SIMON PETER THE APOSTLE

Peter uses his last name, probably happy he was named by Jesus Christ Himself (Matthew 16:18).
Peter means small stone, not rock, and Peter was no greater than any other apostle, certainly never a pope.
Peter was from Bethsaida (John 1:44).
Peter was married (Matthew 8:14).
Peter was a constant companion of James and John, partners in his fishing venture, moreso it seems John.
Peter walked on the water and then sank because of lack of faith. trust in Jesus His LORD (Matthew 14:28-31).
Peter did not always catch on fast.
Peter was asked who Jesus was, and declared Him the Christ, Son of the living God, then right after told Jesus He did not want Him to die on a cross, Peter being harassed by the enemy (Matthew 16:22-23).
Peter was with James and John at the mount of transfiguration, seeing Christ's Glory shine.
Peter was asked by Jesus to fish for a coin to pay taxes, and Peter did so, found the coin in the fishes mouth and paid the taxes (Matthew 17:27).
Peter asked Jesus how much forgiveness he had to give out? (Matthew 18:21).
Peter asked Jesus what the reward was for following Him and was told the apostles would sit on twelves thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel (Matthew 19:28).
Peter claimed he would be the last person to forsake Jesus, and was pretty much the first one who denied him thrice.
Only Peter, James and John were allowed to go with Jesus to the house of the ruler of the synagogue to resurrect his daughter (Mark 5:37).
Peter pointed out to Jesus that the fig tree Jesus cursed was withered away (Mark 11:21).
Jesus took Peter, James and John aside when He was in the garden of Gethsemane (Mark 14:33).
After the resurrection and at the empty tomb, the angel told Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome to go and tell the other disciples AND PETER that Jesus was in Galilee and to go there (Mark 16:7) .
When Jesus filled their nets with fish on the sea, Peter fell down and asked Jesus to depart from him, a sinful man (Luke 5:8).
Jesus asked Peter and John to go prepare the passover meal (Luke 22:8) .
Jesus told Peter beforehand that Peter would deny Jesus three times before the cock would crow (Luke 22:34) .
Peter ran to the tomb with John and found the linen clothes only, and an empty tomb (Luke 24:12, John 20:3) .
Peter was unsure about Jesus washing his feet, said never would he do it (John 13:6) .
Peter cut oof the right ear of the servant of the high priest with a sword ((John 18:10).
Jesus told Peter after His Resurrection that, if PEter loved Him, he would feed His lambs, His sheep (John 21:15-17).
Peter is recorded as the first one to speak to the crowds at Jerusalem in Acts (Acts 1:15) .
Peter healed a lame man outside of the temple, gave the glory to Jesus, not himself (Acts 3:6-7) .
The boldness of Peter after the Resurrection was strong, even under threats of beatings to stop preaching the Gospel with John in Jerusalem (Acts 4:19) .
Peter exposed the lie of Ananias and Sapphira of how much they held back in the offering after the sale of their property (Acts 5:3-9) .
Supernaturally, God even used the shadow of Peter passing by to heal people (Acts 5:15) .
Peter rebukes a man trying to buy a spiritual gift to profit from it (Acts 8:20) .
Peter prayed and God raised Tabitha from the dead (Acts 9:40) .
Peter fell into a trance at Simon the tanner's seaside home, seeing all sorts of unclean creatures and being told to eat them, against Jewish law. God showed him not to be legalistic about being with the unclean (Acts 10:15).
This message was clearly not about food, but rather that the Gospel would go to the Gentiles, the "unclean" the "Samaritans" (Acts 10:28).
Peter refused, rejected worship from Cornelius (Acts 10:25-26).
When Peter then preached to the Gentiles, the Hoyl Ghost fell on them also (Acts 10:44).
When imprisoned by Herod, PEter was freed by an angel (Acts 12:7).
Peter's main ministry was to the Jews, the circumcision (Galatians 2:7).
When Paul came along, got saved, he rebuked Peter because Peter wanted the Gentiles to obey the Jewish law (Galatians 2:11-14).
According to oral and written records, 2,000 years old, Peter "was crucified, his head being down and his feet upward, himself so requiring, because he was (he said) unworthy to be crucified after the same form and manner as the Lord was.".

(1 Peter 1:1 [AKJV/PCE])
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

Simon Peter, Peter being his last name.
Persecution scattered the first believer to North Africa, Europe, India, all over the Roman Empire, then to the rest of this earth.
The reason Peter calls them strangers is simple: they were not from where they wound up when they were scattered, no matter what place they went to.
In the next chapter (1 Peter 2:11) Peter tells them that they needed to control their lust, even while being strangers, pilgrims.

THE SCATTERING

(Acts 8:1-4 [AKJV/PCE])
And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

(Acts 11:19 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

(1 Peter 1:2 [AKJV/PCE])
Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

This is the Trinity, right here, God the Father, sanctification of the Spirit, the blood of Jesus Christ, the Son.
It is unavoidable that in the Old Testament the blood was ever present in sacrifices from Genesis three to Malachi, through animal sacrifices.
In the NEw, it is prophesied in the Old that this Blood will be from God Himself, sprinkled in the Mercy Seat.
As is mentioned before this study in the introduction above.
Many are called, few are chosen. We choose God, He chose all, and most will reject Him.
Calvinists love to take this verse out of its context, twist it to say that we are chosen only, presestinated to be saved.
That is why the above introduction on every page about using the context, not privately interpreting Scripture is so important!.
The Scriptures clearly tell us that anyone can be saved; they merely have to believe that Jesus died for their sins.
Otherwise, there would be no calling for anyone to evangelize, since "people who are chosen would automatically die and enter heaven".
We are called to obedience, which Blood covers our sin(s), removes them as far as east is from the west.

(Hebrews 9:12 [AKJV/PCE])
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

(Matthew 22:14 [AKJV/PCE])
For many are called, but few are chosen.

(Revelation 3:20 [AKJV/PCE])
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

(Romans 10:9-10 [AKJV/PCE])
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

(Matthew 28:19-20 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

(Psalms 103:12 [AKJV/PCE])
As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

(1 Peter 1:3 [AKJV/PCE])
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

The words "begotten us again" merely means that we are born innocent as babies, then we reach an age where we understand that we are doing wrong and are now accountable for our sins before God, at which time we need to be born again. So we are born innocent, then guilty, then born again (second time) .
The first birth is of and through water in the womb (John 3:5).
God has already blessed us; we should bless back.
God is blessed when we get saved, God is blessed by the sacrifice of His Son the LORD Jesus Christ, God is blessed when we obey Him, share and spread His Word, His Gospel and do His will, love others, teach His Word to others, make disciples.
Our hope is lively, not dead, not empty, not a blind hop, certainly not a blind faith, because it is according to His mercy and grace, not our works.

LI'VELY, a.

Brisk; vigorous; vivacious; active; as a lively youth..
Gay; airy.
From grave to gay, from lively to severe..
Representing life; as a lively imitation of nature..
Animated; spirited; as a lively strain of eloquence; a lively description..
Strong; energetic; as a lively faith or hope; a lively persuasion.
Lively stones, in scripture. Saints are called lively stones, as being quickened by the Spirit and active in holiness..

LI'VELY, adv.

Briskly; vigorously. [Little used.].
With strong resemblance of life.
That part of poetry must needs be best, which describes most lively our actions and passions. [Little used.].

(John 3:3-7 [AKJV/PCE])
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

(1 Peter 1:4 [AKJV/PCE])
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

This is why it is a lively hope, and it is waiting for us and is ours, no matter what happens in this life.
This is our eternal, lively hope and security of our salvation.
Incorruptible means we cannot ever have it be rotten, putrid, changed for the worse, but remains the same, waiting perfectly for us, as long as we live, until such time as we get there to heaven.

(1 Peter 1:5 [AKJV/PCE])
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Again, kept by the power of God, not kept by our works, deeds.
And again, by faith.
So, kept by God's power, not by our power, not by our deeds, not by our works; only through faith.

(1 Peter 1:6 [AKJV/PCE])
Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

The "wherein" is our salvation, being in Christ, on the road to Heaven, as this life has little to rejoice about.
"though now" is that they can rejoice despite the fact that they are under persecution, in the dispersia, etc.
Now, stop and think. Can we rejoice if we are in sin? No.
Can we rejoice if we do not know for 100% certain that we are saved, at any time? No.
Can we rejoice without hope? A lively hope? No.
Can we rejoice in the many temptations we face, moment by moment, and being in heaviness? Yes, we can.
Do we mourn? Of course, when heaviness hits. We cannot go through life ignoring our problems, thinking everything is duckies, bunnies, blue and pink balloons like somehow they will go away if we do, as we must always live in reality, the real world, not denying issues and problems as though they do not exist .
Temptations here means trials, tests, even though it must be said that being lured is also hard on us, saps our strength, tires, exhausts us.

TEMPTA'TION, n. The act of tempting; enticement to evil by arguments, by flattery, or by the offer of some real or apparent good. When the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season. Luke 4.

Solicitation of the passions; enticements to evil proceeding from the prospect of pleasure or advantage.
The state of being tempted or enticed to evil. When by human weakness you are led into temptation, resort to prayer for relief.
Trial.
Lead us not into temptation..
That which is presented to the mind as an inducement to evil.
Dare to be great without a guilty crown,
View it, and lay the bright temptation down. .
In colloquial language, an allurement to any thing indifferent, or even good.

(1 Peter 1:7 [AKJV/PCE])
That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

They were being persecuted enough to scatter, persecuted to death, torture by both the Jews and the Romans.
Trials being more precious than gold does not make any sense to us and the world now in this life, because we only see the trial, but if we put on the eyes of faith, we can see the end result.
On earth, there is nothing more precious than gold.
We have to wait for His appearing at the Rapture, or until we depart this life to see and understand.
Our trial needs to be taken as praise, honor, glory to Jesus Christ.
We do not know what the crown of life we shall receive will be, but maybe gold, like the crown of the LORD Jesus Christ.

(James 1:12 [AKJV/PCE])
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

(Revelation 2:10 [AKJV/PCE])
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

(Revelation 3:11 [AKJV/PCE])
Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

(1 Peter 1:8 [AKJV/PCE])
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Peter saw Jesus Christ personally, eye to eye, face to face, for three years, daily, and denied Him three times, then excitedly ran to the empty tomb with John, then believed, then, according to written records by Polycarp, et al., was crucified upside down for Him, in joy.
We can rejoice, knowing we shall see Him as Peter did, one day, despite our trials, nothing yet compared to the first century Christians.
It takes more faith for us because we did not personally see Jesus Christ-YET.

(1 Peter 1:10 [AKJV/PCE])
Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

The prophets who were given the prophecies of the Messiah, the LORD Jesus Christ, waited for Him to come, some having a time frame (Daniel 9), many not.
These prophecies started in Genesis and went to Malachi.
That grace was extended to Israel, and Gentile proselytes of the Old Testament, then Israel in the New Testament, as well as us, then us after they mostly rejected the Messiah.
The prophets were given just enough information to go on, and asked themselves, "When, LORD?".

(Genesis 3:15 [AKJV/PCE])
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

(Malachi 3:1-2 [AKJV/PCE])
Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

(1 Peter 1:11 [AKJV/PCE])
Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

The Holy Ghost was given to specific people, especially prophets, for a time, unlike now after Pentecost, when we all get and are sealed forever by that Spirit upon believing on the Blood of Christ for our salvation.
What they were told about the MEssiah was that .
It testified of the suffering Messiah, something Israel did not want any part of. They wanted a conquering Messiah to destroy Rome, her empire, and free them.
They read the prophets and should have known, but did not read them with the eyes of faith, but read them in light of their law(s).
The Spirit of Christ in them told them all of this, from the start (Genesis).
These prophets looked to the Scriptures to find salvation, and found it, like miners searching for a nugget of gold, beach combers looking for a pearl.
The Holy Ghost told them of it, to record it, to teach it.

(Ephesians 1:13 [KJV])
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

(Ephesians 4:30 [KJV])
And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

(2 Corinthians 1:20-22 [KJV])
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

(1 Peter 1:12 [AKJV/PCE])
Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

This gospel, a mystery in the Old Testament, was to go to all of the world, to the Jew and the Greek, to Gentile and Jew.
This was through Israel or her proselytes who came to her seekign salvation by faith.
The angels do not understand our life, orur salvation, since they live in heaven with God, only at times manifesting as men on earth in the Bible.
Only the third rebelled against God became devils, the two thirds did not and do not experience our sin, but only minister before God and His Throne, doig God;s work on earth to protect us, minister to us, etc. .

(Revelation 12:3-4 [AKJV/PCE])
And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

(Acts 15:8-11 [AKJV/PCE])
And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they.

(Galatians 3:8 [AKJV/PCE])
And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.

THE MESSIANIC PROPHECIES

This is just some, which were given to let them know how to recognize the Messiah when He arrived. All of Psalm 22:1-31 and Isaiah 53:1-6 is about how the Messiah was to suffer; many prophecies are about His future reign as King of kings. So many details were given that Israel was not excused from missing the timing, the recognition of the Messiah. He was their Messiah, our Saviour, the LORD Jesus Christ. They simply, like many Christians today, do not read the Scriptures, but read INTO them, picking and choosing what they want, not discerning.

(Isaiah 7:14 [AKJV/PCE])
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

(Micah 5:2 [AKJV/PCE])
But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

(Deuteronomy 18:15 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

(Genesis 49:10 [AKJV/PCE])
The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

(Psalms 40:6-8 [AKJV/PCE])
Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

(Zechariah 9:9 [AKJV/PCE])
¶ Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

(Isaiah 32:1 [AKJV/PCE])
Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment.

(1 Peter 1:13 [AKJV/PCE])
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

To gird means to bind, bandage, strap.
Otherwise, you open your mind too much? Your brains will fall out.
Today we say, "You need to hold yourself together, man!".

(1 Peter 1:14 [AKJV/PCE])
As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

The world is all too happy to supply lusts for us, some inside us, some from the world.
Once we did this in ignorance, not knowing the law or not caring to know.
We are no longer ignorant, no longer controlled by wind or wzve if we walk with God.
Now in our lusts we would be or, at times are, in deliberate, direct rebellion against God.
Fashioning, as in "Don't let the world put you into it's mold".

(1 John 2:15-16 [AKJV/PCE])
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

(1 Peter 1:15 [AKJV/PCE])
But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

Conversation is behavior here, not just talk, but ones action, deeds.

CONVERSATION, noun

General course of manners; behavior; deportment; especially as it respects morals.
Let your conversation be as becometh the gospel. Philippians 1:27.
Be ye holy in all manner of conversation 1 Peter 1:15. .
A keeping company; familiar intercourse; intimate fellowship or association; commerce in social life.
Knowledge of men and manners is best acquired by conversation with the best company. .
Intimate and familiar acquaintance; as a conversation with books, or other object. .
Familiar discourse; general intercourse of sentiments; chat; unrestrained talk; opposed to a formal conference.
What I mentioned in conversation was not a new thought. [This is now the most general use of the word.].

(1 Peter 1:16 [AKJV/PCE])
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

We are not of this world, which is sinful, deadly, sickly, evil and wicked.
The more we are Christlike, the more we will be walking in holiness and the more the worl will despise us.

(1 Peter 1:17-19 [AKJV/PCE])
And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear: Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

Most American Christians pass the time of their sojourning here in abject pride, arrogance, sad to say.
The more fear of God we have, the more humble. The more humble, the more God can use and uses us.
This is a humble sacrifice of an holy, perfect, innocent man for us, not for Himself (Daniel 9:26).
The idols in the Old Testament, the ones the pagans and Israel made, did nothing to save them, bring them to God or closer to God.
The vain conversation they got from their fathers' tradition was keeping a law that was not meant to safve, but point them to Christ, and was being needlessly, meaninglessly practiced by the Jewish Christians at that time.

(Galatians 3:24-25 [AKJV/PCE])
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

(1 Peter 1:20 [AKJV/PCE])
Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Our inheritance, from the foundation of the world.
Jesus Christ, slain from the foundation of the world .
The prophets of old, slain by the Jews for telling them the truth, from the foundation of the world.
The Father loved the Son from the foundation of the world.

JESUS: SLAIN FROM THE START

(Matthew 13:35 [AKJV/PCE])
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.

(Matthew 25:34 [AKJV/PCE])
Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

(Luke 11:50 [AKJV/PCE])
That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;

(John 17:24 [AKJV/PCE])
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

(Ephesians 1:4 [AKJV/PCE])
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

(Hebrews 4:3 [AKJV/PCE])
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

(Hebrews 9:26 [AKJV/PCE])
For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

(1 Peter 1:20 [AKJV/PCE])
Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

(Revelation 13:8 [AKJV/PCE])
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

(Revelation 17:8 [AKJV/PCE])
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

(1 Peter 1:21 [AKJV/PCE])
Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

The faith and hope of us is not of, from, due to, to be projected at or in this dying world.
We believ in God because of Jesus Christ, the God man.
The phrase "by him" differentiates our God from all others, as the world believes in "God", but not though Jesus Christ, so not really; it is feigned belief, religion, and belief in a wrong God.
The world believes in gods, of their own making who cannot save them from their sin.
Our God is the only one of the Resurrection, the only Creator God.

(1 Peter 1:22 [AKJV/PCE])
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Phoniness is never good, as the serpent deceived Eve in the garden and nothing ever changes.
People "love", faking it to get something, waiting to pounce, then flee.
This was never real love, not like an action in true love, but a fake feeling they displayed, expressed falsely.
Love is a verb, not a noun because, if it is not an action verb, expressed by what we do for others, talk is cheap and it is not a noun-it doesn't exist.
That said, sometimes love has to be tough, as it is unreturned, or because love has to be expressed as discipline on a child, even another elder.
Love is not expressd by lying, deliberately deceiving.

(1 Peter 1:23 [AKJV/PCE])
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

We have the Living Word, the LORD Jesus Christ our Saviour, and the written word.
Here it now speaks of the written Word, as being preserved for ever, as it is infallible, inerrant, incorruptible.

(1 Peter 1:24 [AKJV/PCE])
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

This and many other verses support God preserving His word perfectly forever, despite the enemy using mankind trying to destroy it.

(1 Peter 1:25 [AKJV/PCE])
But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

If it was not preversed perfectly today, we have nothing to preach the gospel by, which here it says we do.
